Oji Liquid Pak Opens US$110 Million Aseptic Packaging Plant in Vietnam as OJI Group Expands in Southeast Asia

OJI Group has opened a US$110 million aseptic packaging plant in Vietnam, run by its subsidiary Oji Liquid Pak. The project is a major step in the Group's push to grow across Southeast Asia.
At full capacity, the facility will produce up to 8 billion packs a year and create more than 200 new jobs. It also fits with Vietnam's developing Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) framework and the country's broader move toward a circular economy.
Strengthening Production in Vietnam
Mikito Terauchi, a corporate officer at OJI Holdings Corporation, said Vietnam is an important market and a growing manufacturing hub in Southeast Asia. By setting up Oji Liquid Pak and investing in local production, he said, the company can serve customers in Vietnam and across the Asia-Pacific region more effectively.
Circular and Flexible Packaging
Oji Liquid Pak draws on the OJI Group's integrated capabilities in forest resources, paper, packaging and recycling. In Southeast Asia, the Group is also developing collection and recycling programs for aseptic cartons.
Kestutis Sliuzas, CEO of Oji Liquid Pak, said the industry is moving toward a new standard in which performance, food safety, operational flexibility and circularity must advance together. His company aims to do more than supply materials. It wants to help customers manage this shift with solutions that work today and can adapt to future needs.
The company's aseptic packaging materials are compatible with roll-fed filling machines already available on the market, so manufacturers can keep their existing equipment while improving efficiency. Customers can buy the materials alone or choose a complete system that includes materials, filling technology and technical services, all from one partner.
Built on Long Experience
The new plant rests on more than 150 years of OJI Group history and over 40 years of aseptic packaging expertise from IPI, an Italian specialist. Oji Liquid Pak and IPI now operate as sister companies within OJI Holdings. They share the same vision, mission, values and strategic direction, and together they provide aseptic carton solutions covering materials, equipment and services as one integrated team.
