Chinese National Deported from Indonesia for Misusing Stay Permit

Indonesian authorities have deported a Chinese national, identified by the initials MH, after finding that he had not carried out any investment activities and had relied on supporting documents that were not his.
Dendi Surya Agung Nugraha, head of the immigration office, said on Sunday in Selatpanjang, Riau, that the removal followed the applicable laws and regulations. Officials have also recommended that MH be placed on the immigration blacklist.
MH was found to have violated Article 122(a) of Law Number 6 of 2011 on Immigration. He left Indonesia on Thursday, October 15, through the international departures area of Terminal 3 at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport.
Officers from the office's Immigration Intelligence and Enforcement team escorted him onto Spring Airlines flight 9C7342, bound for Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport in China. The flight was scheduled to depart at 7:20 p.m. local time.
Nugraha urged all foreign nationals in Indonesia to comply with immigration rules, including making sure their residence permits match the activities they actually carry out.
He added that the enforcement action supports the Directorate General of Immigration's 'Immigration for the People' initiative, which pairs public services with efforts to protect security, public order, and community interests.
